Commissions:
Portrait commissions.
These can be done from life or a photograph. Whichever method is chosen will affect the result. A portrait done from life will not be an ‘exact’ copy of the person, on the other hand it will be freer and have more energy; whereas a portrait from a photograph will usually be in more of a realist style. You should choose a method and medium to suit your tastes.
Medium possibilities: Charcoal / white chalk / coloured paper
Oil on canvas or board
Graphite/ white paper
Coloured chalk pastel /coloured paper
Oil pastel on paper / board
Prices:
Prices vary depending on size, medium and time spent. They start at $40 for a sketch using any of the above mediums at a size of 14" x 10". The style will be free and easy as in the example Rachael portrait.
A portrait such as ‘sister’, which is oil pastel on board would be approx $100. This would be completed in 1 sitting.
A 24 x 24 oil on canvas (as in 'Karen’s portrait') will be approximately $350 for a full (studied) representation; the sitter could expect this to take up to 2 weeks of 3 or 4 sessions.
Paintings can be shipped on request; the shipping charge would be added.

Other Commissions
If you would like your house painted or a particular place or object, the same prices as above apply in general.
If there are extra considerations such as travel involved, all prices will be negotiated.
